What's the first session like?

It's a conversation, not an interrogation. We'll talk about what brought you in, what you're hoping for, and start mapping out goals together. You set the pace — there's nothing you have to share before you're ready.

How do I know if we're a good fit?

That's exactly what the free consultation is for. Fit matters more than anything else in therapy, so we'll both check in honestly — and if I'm not the right person, I'll help point you toward someone who is.

How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?

Sessions are 45 minutes, for individuals and couples alike. Most people start weekly, which builds the most momentum early on; we adjust the cadence together as you progress.

Are sessions online or in person?

All of my sessions are online. Secure teletherapy lets us do deep, meaningful work without the commute or the waiting room, and it fits more easily into a full life. My background in film means I'm genuinely comfortable and attuned on camera, so connection rarely gets lost over video.

Where do you work? Can you see me in my state?

I'm based in Brooklyn and licensed in both New York and New Jersey, and can see clients located in either state, including Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the surrounding areas, as well as North Jersey and beyond. All sessions are online, so there's no in-person office to visit.

What's your cancellation policy?

I hold a 24-hour, full-fee cancellation policy. That said, if you let me know the night before, the fee is waived. I'd always rather you reach out than stress about it.

Do you take insurance?

I'm an out-of-network provider. I'll give you a weekly superbill to submit to your insurer, and many clients are reimbursed a meaningful portion of each session. I'm glad to help you check your out-of-network benefits.

What are your fees?

Individual sessions are $175 (45 minutes) and couples sessions are $200 (45 minutes). The initial 15-minute consultation is always free.

How does reimbursement work?

You pay at the time of each session by PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle, and I provide a weekly superbill — an itemized receipt with everything your insurer needs. You submit it to your plan, and they reimburse you directly based on your out-of-network benefits.

Do you offer sliding scale?

I keep a limited number of reduced-fee spots. If cost is a barrier, please mention it on our consultation call — I'll be honest about availability and help you think through options either way.

What kind of therapy do you practice?

My work is collaborative, individualized, and evidence-based, drawing on DBT, polyvagal and brain-body techniques, IFS, CBT, attachment-based and relational approaches, and mindfulness. I tailor the approach to you rather than fitting you into a single method.

How long will I be in therapy?

There's no fixed answer — it depends on your goals. Some people come for focused, shorter-term work; others stay longer for deeper change. We'll check in regularly on what's working and what you need.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. What you share in therapy is private, with only the narrow legal exceptions every therapist is required to follow (such as imminent risk of harm). I'll walk you through exactly what that means at the start.
